PIAS Warehouse Update

Full list of labels affected

A full list of independent labels affected by the PIAS warehouse fire has emerged.

Independent labels often operate on a shoestring, with tiny margins between success and failure. Last night, years of work from countless imprints went up in smoke when the riots in London claimed a PIAS warehouse.

Located in Enfield, the three story warehouse was set on fire and burned to the ground. Big hitters such as Sony were affected, but tragically it seems that almost a hundred labels from Britain and Europe have been left devastated.

Music blog The 405 have acquired what they claim is the full list of independent labels affected by the fire. We are warning you now: this will break your heart…

Events are still sketchy – this list may change.

An imposing list, it contains some of the most respected labels this country has ever produced. The dense prose can be difficult to take in, so to emphasise the human effect here is a Tweet from Memphis Industries:

“So all the stock we got left is sitting in our office. Devastated is the word. Thoughts go out to all other PIAS labels too”.
