Phil Spector Re-Trial Set

Jurors Sworn In

The jury for producer Phil Spector's re-trial have been sworn in and a date for the opening statements has been set, according to reports.

The original trial collapsed after the jury returned a 10-2 verdict in favor of Spector's guilt. The jury selection process has been taking place recently, and the final juror was sworn in on October 27th.

The new trial can now begin, and the opening statements will be heard in court on October 29th. The six alternate jurors will now join a panel of twelve regular jurors who were selected last week.

Phil Spector pioneered the 'Wall of Sound' recording technique and dominated the American charts in the early to mid 60s. A hugely influential figure in popular music, his behaviour has traditionally been regarded as erratic at best. However, the producer stands accused of murdering actress Lana Clarkson, with the trial having higher stakes than just a pop career.

Phil Spector's re-trial begins on October 29th.
