Pete Doherty Buys Football Team
Frontman Joins Pub Side
Babyshambles singer Pete Doherty has found a new outlet for his love of football - the singer is apparently keen to join a pub football team in Buckinghamshire.
The singer is a renowned football fan, having once written a fanzine dedicated to his beloved Queens Park Rangers. As well as regular knock-abouts with his musical chums, Doherty also leads a side that enters into the annual charity Soccer Six tournament.
The singer has now apparently purchased £500 worth of football shirts for his local pub team, named Queen's Head Rangers. The catch? Each shirt has his head on it. Very subtle, Mr Doherty!
The Sun newspaper quotes the teams' manager, Josh Morris, as being “happy to have (Doherty)” in his team.
Babyshambles are currently working on their third album, with a view to releasing the material in 2009. In addition to this Doherty is reportedly nearing the completion of his solo album.
