Pet Shop Boys For Latitude
First names announced for event
This summer just got a little brighter with the news that Pet Shop Boys have been confirmed as headliners for this year's Latitude festival.
Taking place at Southwold in Suffolk, Latitude is one of the biggest and best names on the festival calendar. The four day event contains a vast array of musical acts as well as a full range of performance stages devoted to theatre, comedy and poetry.
Pet Shop Boys recently received the 'Outstanding Contribution To Music' trophy at the recent Brit Awards event. The group performed some of their biggest hits before a television audience of millions, but also hinted at the future with their new single 'Love Etc'.
The synth pop duo have been busy working on their tenth studio album 'Yes' which is a typically filthy collection of anthemic pop. Led by Neil Tennant's monotone vocals, the band have defied tide and trend to become one of Britain's biggest pop exports.
Joining the group on the bill is legendary disco queen Grace Jones. A model, actress and singer Jones epitomised the glitz and glamour of the Studio 54 era where she would allegedly turn up completely naked.
Also on the bill is Australian group Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, Editors, Doves and Bat For Lashes. Led by Natasha Kahn, Bat For Lashes are preparing to release their new album 'Two Suns'.
Latitude takes place between July 16th - 19th.
