Maturing with age, Peggy Sue are rapidly flowering into something quite distinct.
Take new album 'Choir Of Echoes': a mature, slow burning return, it finds the group exploring new areas with a rare confidence. Clash reviewer Shahzaib Hussain is a fan, awarding the album 8/10 and arguing that "Peggy Sue are now revelling in true resolute defiance."
Out on January 27th, another album preview his the web a few moments ago. A gentle, lilting salute to lost love, 'Longest Day Of The Year Blues' is one of the record's most open, honest moments.
As Peggy Sue explain: "I remember thinking to myself cynically 'Well this sucks... But at least it's wonderfully poetic.' It has the word 'baby' in it 5 times. I guess I may have been listening to my Greatest Ever Doo Wop Song compilation a little too much last summer."
