To fans, life on the road can seem like a hopelessly glamorous project.
However to most bands, extended periods on the tour bus can be stupefyingly dull. Which is why when something unusual happens, when an inventive venue pops up it can make an enormous impression on the musicians involved.
Ahead of this, singer Katy Young has compiled five of her favourite places to play - ranging from a barn in America to an abandoned bunker in Dalston, it's a cross section of on the road memories.

A friend of a friend's barn, North Carolina
We just went out to Raleigh to visit our American label Yep Roc before Christmas. They showed us around and we recorded some live videos in this amazing barn in the middle of the forest. They put on little shows there sometimes and a festival in the summer, hopefully we'll get to go back and play a proper show sometime.
Park Stage, Glastonbury
We played on the Friday a couple of years back after many years of going as ticket holders/playing in tiny tents in the Green Peace field to get a ticket. It was amazing to play on the Park stage which is all of our favourite and then we had the rest of the weekend to hang out. Plus we snuck onto the side of the stage to watch Thom Yorker and Jonny Greenwood play a secret show.
La Botanique, Brussels
We played here a few years back supporting Archie Bronson Outfit and we're playing again this spring. It's such a beautiful space and if I remember correctly they fed a very delicious dinner beforehand.
Daytrotter Studio, Rock Island
There are a couple of the Daytrotter recording studios just at the top of the Mississippi River in Illinois. We've made the pilgrimage there twice to do sessions. There is a pizza place next door to one called Huckleberry's and an unbelievable amount of cool equipment. They do some sessions is a church crypt in North London now too called 2khz so maybe we'll go there next time- it's more convenient at least.
The Bunker, Dalston
In 2012 we released a covers album called 'Peggy Sue play the songs of Scorpio Rising' and we played the record in sync with the 30 minutes film three times in one day in a disused WW2 bunker in east London. Rosa now helps run the space and puts on regular gigs there but its really cool to know that we were the first to play in such a unique place.
Peggy Sue are set to release new single 'Figure Of Eight' on April 14th. The band have confirmed the following shows:
7 Brighton Green Door Store
8 Coventry The Tin
9 Manchester Soup Kitchen
10 Glasgow Broadcast
11 Liverpool Leaf
12 Sheffield The Harley
14 Bristol The Old Bookshop - SOLD OUT
15 London Oslo
