Paul Weller Completes New Album
'Wake The Nation' due in April
Iconic British songwriter Paul Weller is preparing to release his new solo album 'Wake The Nation' on April 12th.
Paul Weller emerged as the lead singer of The Jam, matching an outspoken punk attitude with a love for 60s pop and soul. Forging a uniquely Englsih songwriting style the frontman soon became something quite different from his peers.
Embarking on a thirty year career that has seen him become a musical institution, Paul Weller has continually challenged expectations over what he can achieve.
Returning with his album '22 Dreams' in 2008 the singer earned huge acclaim. A lengthy concept album, the success of '22 Dreams' contributed in part to Paul Weller becoming the oldest ever winner of 'Best British Male' at the BRIT awards.
Touring heavily, Paul Weller has managed to find time to record a new album. Debuting material at a series of recent dates the song seemed to be firmly fixed in the 60s, but with an experimental vein.
Now Paul Weller has confirmed details of his new album. 'Wake The Nation' is set for release on April 12th, and will contain a song recorded with Bruce Foxton - Weller's one time cohort in The Jam.
Also due to appear are My Bloody Valentine's Kevin Shields, The Move's Bev Bevan and legendary session drummer Clem Cattini as Paul Weller decides to stretch out. Set to preceded by a single on April 5th, 'Wake The Nation' is the work of a man who feels he has everything to prove.
