North American tour confirmed

Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney has confirmed details of a North American tour, including a date at the Hollywood Bowl.

Sir Paul McCartney occupies an almost unique position in pop culture. One of the principle songwriters in The Beatles, the Liverpool musician was responsible for shifting expectations over what pop music can achieve.

Conquering the world, the Fab Four split in 1970 leaving Sir Paul McCartney to pursue a career with Wings. Turning solo, the songwriter is one of the most esteemed musicians on the planet.

Now Sir Paul McCartney has confirmed details of a new North American tour. The singer performed a number of shows in the United States last year, including the first ever rock concerts at the new Citi Field.

The New York arena is built on the site of Shea Stadium, a baseball ground which looms large in Beatles mythology. Recorded for a DVD, the show was a powerful indication of the importance of McCartney's career.

Now Sir Paul McCartney has confirmed a new batch of North American dates, including one at Hollywood Bowl. The Californian stadium hosted a legendary concert by The Beatles, which arguably represents the height of Beatlemania.
