Passion Pit Expanded UK Tour

American synth pop newcomers Passion Pit have expanded their forthcoming UK tour to meet demand.

Some bands form out of a shared musical vision. Some form after answering a wanted ad in the paper. Passion Pit, however, came together as a gift to singer Michael Angelakos' girlfriend on Valentine's Day.

Recording a series of songs for February 14th, the material leaked out onto the internet via friends. Passion Pit has a ready made cult following, with those early recordings later being brushed up for the 'Chunk Of Change' EP.

Alerting the music world to a daring new talent, Passion Pit seemed to hint at the spectral psych-pop vision of MGMT but with a daring new sensibility.

The group's debut album was released earlier this year, gaining rave reviews. Hugely uplifting, it came just as summer was beginning to part those grey British skies. Passion Pit went on to become a stunning festival fixture, with their material being sung back to the American group by crowds of thousands.

Now Passion Pit are set to open the New Year with a newly expanded British tour. Announced last month, the dates are set to take place in March and open with a show in Bristol Academy.

Travelling throughout the country Passion Pit are due to play eight shows in total, before finishing the jaunt with a gig in Dublin's Olympia venue.
