Pains Of Being Pure At Heart Expand Tour

New EP draws near

Brooklyn indie poppers The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart have added an extra date to their upcoming UK tour.

The ghost of C86 seems to loom large over the indie world right now. A host of groups have emerged paying homage to the era, with a series of bands donning moth eaten cardigans and crafting feedback drenched melodies.

Hailing from Brooklyn, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart are among the new wave of twee-poppers. Not that they'd like us calling them twee, but few other terms fit their sweet, shambling melodies quite so well.

Snapped up by tiny London independent label Fortuna POP! the band released their self-titled debut album earlier this year. A hit with critics it went on to become a word of mouth success, prompting a series of British tours.

Beneath the album's very basic production lay some sweet and tender songwriting, with The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart a very literal description of the band's take on life.

Seeming to write indie pop classics almost at will, the band recently returned to the studio to record some extra tracks. The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart are set release their new EP 'Higher Than The Stars' next month, organising a British tour to celebrate.

Beginning with a show in London on November 28th, the Brooklyn quartet have now expanded the tour to finish with another show in the capital, Playing the Scala in London on December 8th, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart are set to finish the year with a bang.

The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart are set to play the following dates:

November
28 London ICA
30 Bristol Thekla

December
1 Liverpool O2 Academy 2
2 Newcastle O2 Academy 2
3 Glasgow Stereo
4 Manchester Academy 2
5 Birmingham O2 Academy 2
8 London London Scala
