P Diddy Simian Team Up
Rapper plans new collaboration
One of the world's biggest rap superstars P Diddy has revealed that he has been recording with Simian Mobile Disco.
Formed from the ashes of Simian - possibly the best connected band you've never heard - Simian Mobile Disco are one of Britain's most highly regarded production and remix teams. Debut album 'Attack Sustain Decay Release' was acclaimed as a benchmark for indie dance, while last year's remix album 'Sample And Hold' demonstrated just how flexible the group are.
James Ford has gone on to become an acclaimed producer, working on albums by Klaxons amongst others whilst also drumming with Last Shadow Puppets. The group are set to commence work on their second album soon, which could have a surprise guest star.
In a posting on the social networking site Twitter, American hip hop guru P Diddy stated he was at a party with "James (Ford) from Simian Mobile Disco! I just did a new track with them! It's crazy!"
One of the most high profile music industry figures on the planet, P Diddy's label Bad Boy dominated the hip hop landscape in the 90s releasing seminal records by the Notorious BIG amongst others.
The rapper could be set for another high profile collaboration, as it seems that Arctic Monkeys were at the same party. In another Tweet the rapper revealed he was "just kickin' it wit my boy Matt (Helders) from the Arctic Monkeys!"
"I'm the newest member of the group! I'm signing him to Bad Boy (Diddy's record label)."
