P Diddy Hails Arctic Monkeys

Rapper tells fans to buy 'Humbug'

Returning indie giants Arctic Monkeys have received some unexpected support - from P Diddy.

Sometimes opposites attract. Hailing from Sheffield, indie icons Arctic Monkeys have struck up a friendship with rap mogul P Diddy one of the biggest stars in America.

News broke of the relationship earlier this year. Arctic Monkeys breezed into California to work on their new album with producer Josh Homme, and stayed with the Queens Of The Stone Age man at his home in the Joshua Tree.

However the group also liked to party. Drummer Matt Helders bumped into P Diddy at a party and the two seemed to hit it off. Video messages to fans documenting the album process also showed the two developing a heart warming friendship, with P Diddy becoming a huge fan of the group.

Announcing that he and Helders were "having a bro-mance" the rap mogul told fans he was a huge fan of Arctic Monkeys. It seems that P Diddy wasn't lying either, with the hip hop star now telling fans to go and buy their new album 'Humbug'.

"Go get the Arctic Monkeys' new album 'Humbug'!!!!!!" he wrote on his Twitter page, adding his online catchphrase. "Let's go!!!!!"

Strangely, the Tweet was posted just as Arctic Monkeys were set to go on stage at the O2 Academy Brixton on August 26th. The band played a blinding show, which you can read about HERE!

Diddy's support represents a major leap for the group, with the rapper's Twitter page having over 1,819,849 followers, making him one of the most popular people on the micro blogging site.

Arctic Monkeys are set to headline this weekend's Reading and Leeds festival.
