The full nominations for this year's Academy Awards – also known as the Oscars – have been announced.

The awards season is upon us. Undoubtedly the glitziest of the lot, the Academy awards – also known as the Oscars – will return this year on February 24th, with Seth MacFarlane set to step into the breach as host.

Already confirmed for the ceremony is a special salute to the Bond franchise, after the global success of latest instalment 'Skyfall'. "We are very happy to include a special sequence on our show saluting the Bond films on their 50th birthday," said Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the producers of this year's Oscars show. Continuing, they described the Bond films as "the longest-running motion picture franchise in history, and a beloved global phenomenon".
