Europe is bursting with festivals this summer and Portugal’s leading festival Optimus Alive is none to back down. The 55,000 capacity festival will see 90 acts across five stages from 12th to 14th July in the country’s capital, Lisbon.

Today, Optimus Alive announce further additions to their 2013 line up including old-school hip hop giants Jurassic 5, electro-soul experimentalist Jamie Lidell, Camden rockers Tribe and New Yorkers Vampire Weekend.

On the OptimusAliveClubbing stage, Friday July 12th sees breakout stars Jessie Ware, Disclosure and AlunaGeorge, as well as Gold Panda and Redlight who have just been announced. Joining the rest will be Huxley and fellow rising house stars Dusky, Shadow Child, Two Inch Punch and Rinse FM house name Mosca.

Optimus Alive first launched in 2007 traditionally featuring varied lineups that give equal attention amongst stadium-filling international headliners and DJs, alternative independent acts and homegrown Portuguese talent. Previous headliners include Radiohead, The Cure, Pearl Jam, Beastie Boys, Smashing Pumpkins, Bob Dylan, Rage Against The Machine, Metallica, Coldplay and Blondie.

If glamping is more your thing than a sweltering beach tent, Optimus Alive have a 4* quality camping site with hot showers and a swimming pool plus a free shuttle service back and forth to the festival. It’s every excuse to break away from this never-ending winter and start that European festival crawl!
