Hold on to your backturned caps - nu metal and skate punk could well be set to make a comeback this summer.

After recent news jock faves and rap-metal merchants Limp Bizkit are set to reform, Cali skate punks The Offspring are now set to return for a one-off show in London this August.

From their days knocking out manic speed-punk jams in the late 80's to releasing a clutch of platinum LP's, The Offspring went on to sell over 50 million albums and became pioneers of the 'skate-punk' sound.

Having released their eighth album last year in the shape of 'Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace', now the Cali four-piece are set to return to the stage for a one-off gig at the London Academy on the 25th August.

Recently The Offspring found fans in an unexpected source, when Nashville rockers Kings Of Leon declared themselves fans of the band, adding they "use to do a little moshing" to their songs whilst growing up.

The Offspring will play their first U.S. dates in four years over the summer on their 'This Shit Is Fucked Up Tour', as well as headlining a series of festivals (you can win tickets to hundreds of festivals on Clash Music HERE) ticket details below.
