Release date, tracklisting confirmed

American psych-pop mavericks of Montreal have confirmed details of new album 'False Priest'.

Formed by Kevin Barnes, of Montreal have now expanded far beyond their initial psych-pop recordings. The group have taken on board R&B influences, with their 2008 album 'Skeletal Lamping' receiving credit for its brave songwriting.

Praised by Solange Knowles, the R&B diva later covered one of the band's tracks. The appreciation is mutual, with of Montreal inviting the singer to appear on their new album 'False Priest'.

Recorded over the past year, producer Jon Brion were entrusted with matching indie rock to R&B. Previously working with both Fiona Apple and Kanye West, Brion has managed to focus the band's schizophrenic influences.

Elsewhere on the album, Janelle Monae makes a guest appearance. Fans have been teased with new material, with of Montreal recently released their new single 'Coquet Coquette' as a free download.

Available from their official website, you can download it HERE.

Due for release on September 13th, 'False Priest' contains some typically bizarre song titles. 'Godly Intersex' rubs shoulders with 'Hydra Fancies' and the Solange Knowles boosted 'Sex Karma'.
