'Love Will Tear Us Apart' is given a radical new re-working...
Odina

Odina stumbled through the door and reached for her guitar.

Switching on her home studio, she began fingering a few chords, re-visiting one of her favourite songs.

Easing herself into Joy Division's classic single 'Love Will Tear Us Apart', she tapes a fragile rendering, a performance that could crack at any moment.

Taking this recording, the Barcelona born talent place it to one side, aiming to work on new material but continually called back by that project.

Expanding the arrangement while retaining that soft emotional core, it's set to be released tomorrow (March 16th) but you can hear it up-front on Clash.

Odina explains: "The main body of the song is a live take of guitar and vocals that I’d recorded at 2 or 3am in my bedroom after getting back from a night out… There was something about that one take, it wasn't perfect, but there was so much emotion in it, it just felt very real. I decided to use it."

"I think for me it's way more important to capture those rare moments, where there is so much emotion, without any filter, than to make everything sound perfect in a track. There is a certain kind of beauty in imperfections I think, as well."

Tune in now.
