Has it really been 20 years?
In the summer of 1994, Britpop was a term used exclusively by the music press to describe a sound, a gang in London. By the year's end, the explosion growth of Oasis has turned the tag into a household name.
Debut album 'Definitely Maybe' broke all records, while follow up '(What's The Story) Morning Glory' took the group global.
'Be Here Now' sold well, but in retrospect has come to be viewed as the end of an era as Oasis fragmented and the euphoric mood of Britpop dissipated.
In line with the 20th anniversary of their debut album, Oasis are set to re-issue their first three studio efforts. The trilogy of albums will be re-mastered, with plenty of bonus content made available for fans.
The re-issues will be available on standard CD and digital download, Special Edition 3-CD and digital download, 12” vinyl LP (with digital download bundle of all bonus CD content) as well as Deluxe Box Set (including LP, Deluxe CD, exclusive 7” & merchandise).
Out on May 19th, the 'Chasing The Sun' edition will be complimented by a limited edition cassette release of Oasis' 1993 demos. Finally, Record Store Day (April 19th, write it down) will see the classic Oasis single 'Supersonic' re-issued on 12 inch vinyl.
