Oasis Split - Its Final

Liam Gallagher breaks his silence

Manchester icons Oasis have split up following recent troubles, singer Liam Gallagher has confirmed.

It was the news fans had long been expecting, but had doubted they would ever hear. Following a huge backstage row, Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher walked out of the band vowing never to return.

For months the band had been rocked by arguments, with singer Liam Gallagher reportedly angry at his brother's plans for a solo album.

With Noel Gallagher out of the band, fans had wondered if Oasis could continue without their main songwriter. However in his first interview since the split Liam Gallagher has confirmed that as far as he is concerned the band are finished.

Speaking to British newspaper The Times the singer stated: "Well, Oasis is no longer. I think we all know that. So that's done".

"It's a shame, but that's life. We had a good run at it. The thing about Oasis is no-one... we ended Oasis. No-one ended it for us. Which was pretty, kind of... cool. I'm thinking of what the next step is musically, which is all my mind's on."

Liam Gallagher recently launched his fashion label Pretty Green. With an Autumn / Winter collection newly released the former Oasis frontman has plenty to keep him occupied. Probed on the issue of new music, the singer was non-committal.

"People will be able to buy his records. People will be able to buy our records. So everyone's happy," he explained.

Liam Gallagher was then asked if he could recover his relationship with brother Noel, replying: "Well, that’s a long way off yet, man, but who knows?"
