Noisettes For Isle Of Wight

Ladyhawke also due to perform

The organisers of this year's Isle Of Wight festival have added chart busting group The Noisettes to the bill.

Always a highlight of the festival calendar, this summer's festival contains some marvellously inventive ideas. Baggy survivors The Charlatans have been added to the bill, and in addition to a no doubt storming performance the band are being allowed to curate a day's worth of entertainment at the Big Top arena.

The Big Top seems to be where it's at this summer. In addition to The Charlatans involvement, the festival will host a night of entertainment in the arena before the gates are even opened. The audience will consist purely of those camping at the event who will be kept entertained by the likes of New Romantic pioneers The Human League.

However on Friday night The Big Top is transformed into a 'Girls Night Out'. The arena will host only acts with a female presence, including Bananarama, Alesha Dixon and Beverley Knight.

A new addition to the line up sees The Noisettes added to proceedings. The three piece recently traded in their garage soul sound for something a little slicker, and the dancefloor friendly single 'Don't Upset The Rhythm' promptly went soaring up the charts.

Also added to the bill is New Zealand electro star Ladyhawke. Real name Pip Brown, the singer's debut album 'My Delirium' was released to no little acclaim last year and spawned the single 'Paris Is Burning'. A rapidly maturing live act, Ladyhawke's performance will no doubt be a highlight of the weekend.

Isle Of Wight have already confirmed a number of headline performances including returning rave rock heroes The Prodigy, Basement Jaxx, Stereophonics, Neil Young and many more.

Isle Of Wight festival takes place between June 12th - 14th.
