Noel Gallagher Writing New Oasis Tracks

Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher has continued his adventures in the blogosphere, telling fans he has written new material during the band's South American tour.

Oasis released their seventh studio album 'Dig Out Your Soul' last year. A re-energised affair it was a surprise success in the United States, becoming the band's biggest hit there for a decade.

Touring the album presented its own difficulties, however. At a show in Toronto guitarist Noel Gallagher was rushed from behind by a fan, badly bruising his ribs in the process. Gallagher recovered, with the band playing a triumphant British tour last year.

A noted fan of blogging, Noel Gallagher recently warned fans that any new Oasis album would be five years in the making, claiming that solo projects would take priority. Rumours have long surrounded the possibility of a potential Noel Gallagher solo album, and it seems that the record may finally be in the pipeline.

However in a new update the guitarist claims to have written a batch of new songs for the Manchester group during a recent tour of South America.

"Had to scarper after the gig," he wrote. "Would have loved to have stayed and re-lived the '90s but the writing bug has gripped me. Nearly wrote five new songs on this leg alone! Gotta get them down while it's still happening."

The songwriter was recently caught on camera in the Far East playing a new song as part of the band's soundcheck. Titled 'If I Had A Gun' the track is said to be unfinished.

Gallagher finished his message by praising the band's South American fans. "I speak directly to you people of South America. You have been truly amazing. It's been a privilege to play for you. The memories of this little tour will live with me for a long time. Mucho gracias and obrigado."

Oasis are set for a busy summer. Aside from playing The Eden Sessions in Cornwall the group are scheduled to complete a massive UK tour with support coming from Kasabian, The Enemy and Twisted Wheel.
