The line up for next year's Teenage Cancer Trust shows have been announced.
The line up curated by Noel Gallagher includes some of the biggest names in music and comedy with Ryan Adams, Rizzle Kicks, Kasabian, Primal Scream and Noel Fielding taking to the Albert Hall's prestigious stage. Noel himself will be headlining an evening with support from Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon.
Speaking at a press conference this morning, the former Oasis guitarist said he "hoped" to play with the Blur pair and confessed to jamming along to 'Tender' in his living room every now and then.
Noel is a long standing supporter of the charity and was asked to get involved by The Who frontman Roger Daltrey who has played a major part in the event since they began in 2000. Due to The Who being on tour in the US, Daltrey decided it was time to give someone else the chance to curate the line up and there was only one person for the job.
Speaking about the line up Gallagher said: ' I phoned up Russell (Brand) and he said yes straight away. If he hasn't got an hours and a half's material on divorce then I would be shocked. I won't begin to blag I'm a massive fan of rizzle kicks or labyrinth but my twelve year old daughter loves them. It's all about getting people in.'
The event is in it's twelfth year and raises money to help develop specialist units within NHS hospitals for teenagers to be alongside each other whilst being treated. During the series, some of the teenagers currently being helped by the charity will be invited to come along and be inspired by some of their favourite acts.
Talking about TCT, Noel said: 'We were teenagers once and teenagers buy our records. It strikes a chord with musicians because your teenage years are when you develop your dreams and aspirations. Cancer is a fact of life and it's all about helping people through it.'
The concerts are from the 19th until the 24th March and tickets go on sale Friday 7th December. Tickets are priced from £25.00 plus booking fee.
