Noel Gallagher Responds To Liam’s “Potato” Jibe

"I tolerated him up until he stopped being able to sing."

Noel Gallagher has responded to his brother Liam's recent social media jibes.

Liam Gallagher wrote "FUCK OASIS" on Twitter, and then followed this up by scribbling the word 'Potato' on top of a picture of his brother.

Noel Gallagher was probed on this by the Toronto Star, and explained that isn't particularly worried about these insults. "That’s so unlike him," he said. "I guess it was about him staying relevant. If you’re him, what else is there to tweet about? How his spring/summer collections are doing for his clothing firm? I’m not sure that warrants a tweet. Should he ever climb out of the 'where are they now' basket and grant you an interview, ask him. I’m sure you’ll get a typically fucking surreal answer."

The guitarist was asked if he's on speaking terms with his brother, responding: "We’ve not been on speaking terms since 1996. I tolerated him up until he stopped being able to sing. When singing becomes shouting—I switched off then. I was just amassing money."

With Oasis not likely to reform any time soon, fans have to placate themselves with the upcoming release of Supersonic, a new documentary focussing on their explosive rise.

Noel Gallagher explains: "Somewhat predictably, it’s quite funny. I come out of it like a bit of a soothsayer really. I was saying we’d be the last of a dying breed; so it came to pass."
