"...people aren’t going to expect what they’re doing.”

Nile Rodgers has opened up about his recent recording sessions with Daft Punk.

Daft Punk remain an inscrutable, mysterious force. The French duo are widely rumoured to be working on new material, but as yet have still to break cover and confirm any concrete details.

Thankfully, Nile Rodgers can provide a window into their working methods. The disco icon revealed earlier this year that he was working with Daft Punk on new material. and recently expanded on those comments.

Chatting with Mixmag at Camp Bestival, Nile Rodgers explained: “All I can say is those guys are geniuses and to think that after all these years we’ve been trying to get together, they just show up at my apartment in New York City and the vibe between us is so powerful and so strong – it’s unbelievable."

Continuing, Nile Rodgers insisted that the sessions are some of the most exciting he has ever taken part in. “Spiritually and artistically working with them was as good as anything I’ve ever done. It’s as great as being in a studio with Bowie, it’s great as being with Bernard Edwards, and it’s as great as the best stuff I’ve ever done with Duran or Madonna."

Signing off, the guitarist said: "It’s going to be so cutting edge that people aren’t going to expect what they’re doing.”

All very intriguing. Here's 'Robot Rock'.
