Nick Cave Re-Issues Continues
Collector's edition details
Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds are to continue their re-issue series with three more albums getting the expansive treatment.
When The Birthday Party imploded few expected their iconoclastic frontman to emerge as a genuine Renaissance man. Yet Nick Cave is now a celebrated author, musician and director with his every release greeted with almost unanimous applause.
Forming the group Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, the Australian songwriting has spent the best part of 25 years baiting the mainstream and stunning his fans. Now the group are set to look back with three expansive re-issues.
The re-issue program began last year and is set to continue with the next phase of the group's career. Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds are to re-issue 'Tender Prey', 'The Good Son' and 'Henry's Dream' - their fifth, sixth and seventh studio albums.
Released on April 5th, the new versions of the recordings will feature re-mastered stereo sound. Alongside this the albums will contain a surround mix as well as a specially commissioned short film by UK artists Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard.
Amongst the bonus recordings are previously uncollected B-sides from the singles and exclusive sleevenotes.
Given a new lick of paint, the album reveal some rather neglected parts of the band's output. Lacking the sheen of recent releases, they demonstrate a time when Nick Cave was evolving into the acclaimed artist he is today.
Currently cresting a wave of acclaim for his part in the score of post-apocalyptic film 'The Road' the new re-issues are a timely reminder of a time when Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds were bad hombres on the outskirts of the mainstream.
