'Lawless' due later this year

Nick Cave is to assist in crafting the soundtrack for upcoming Prohibition era movie 'Lawless'.

Nick Cave has a pretty flawless record when it comes to soundtracks. His own work has graced many a silver screen, while the Australian songwriter has also assisted in scoring 'The Proposition', 'The Road' and more.

Now the artist is set to help pull together a soundtrack for upcoming Prohibition era film 'Lawless'. Set during the golden age of bootlegging, the score finds Nick Cave working with countless guest performers.

Old sparring partners Warren Ellis and John Hillcoat were on hand throughout, with the full tracklisting emerging online via Twenty Four Bit.

Seemingly a rather dark, distorted take on 'O Brother Where Art Thou' the score features bluegrass legend Ralph Stanley blasting his way through The Velvet Underground's 'White Light / White Heat'.

Willie Nelson appears, with Mark Lanegan, Liela Moss and more peppering an extremely varied cast list.
