As middle finger law suit progresses...

Invited to perform as part of Madonna's half-time show at the 2012 Superbowl, M.I.A. decided to give an impromptu gesture to the cameras.

Flippin' the bird, the singer was quickly engulfed in controversy. Appalled, Superbowl organisers the NFL decided to take legal action.

The case is still ongoing, but a few moments ago M.I.A. revealed the amount she would have to pay if she loses the case - some $16.6 million.

The initial amount was $1.5 million, with the NFL seemingly adding on an additional $15 million for "restitution" - the exposure M.I.A. enjoyed from her stint at the Superbowl.

Responding to this, M.I.A.'s legal team filed a document which protested: "The claim for restitution lacks any basis in law, fact, or logic."

The singer tweeted: "@madonna ummm ..... can i borrow 16 million ?" Before adding: "THIS IS WHAT THEY WANT ME TO SIGN , THAT IVE BEEN FIGHTING FOR 2 YEARS ON TOP OF 16 MILLION".
