Liam Gallagher Solo Song
Oasis frontman unveils epic
Oasis singer Liam Gallagher has been busy of late, preparing for the launch of his new fashion label Pretty Green by unveiling a brand new song.
Liam Gallagher's songwriting efforts have come a long way. Fans no doubt cringe at the mention of 'Little James', the singer's much criticised effort from 'Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants'.
However since then Gallagher has managed to find his own voice, blending psychedelia with rock to produce something distinct, yet capable of working within Oasis' trademark sound. The singer has even scored a hit single, with 'Songbird' coming from his ever productive pen.
Always striving to be his own man, Liam Gallagher has extended this by crafting a unique take on fashion. Becoming the number one icon for the Britpop generation, Gallagher blended Mod with casual to craft a look that has become his trademark.
Of course, there has also been the odd lapse in judgement. At one of the muddiest Glastonbury events in living memory the singer took to the stage in a pur white fur coat. Which didn't stay white for long, obviously.
Pretty Green is set to launch on Thursday (June 4th) and to promote it Liam Gallagher has posted a video of himself singing a never before heard track. Titled 'Man Of Misery' it's perhaps not the euphoric anthem we expected to launch the new label but hey - anything new from Liam Gallagher is a good thing.
In a previous interview, brother Noel Gallagher had stated that Oasis would not release a new album for five years, in which time individual members would work on their own projects.
However since then Noel Gallagher has debuted a new track at a soundcheck and blogged that he had written a half dozen more new tracks during a tour of South America.
It is not known when the new material will be released, or if these new songs will even come under the Oasis banner.
One thing is for sure, however - Noel Gallagher won't be getting any free Pretty Green clobber. "Our kid will have to buy his own Pretty Green gear," Liam Gallagher told Manchester Evening News.
"He's getting no freebies!" he confirmed. "I can't see all of Oasis going onstage dressed head-to-toe in Pretty Green outfits. We're not Showaddywaddy."
Pretty Green launches on Thursday (June 4th).
