New Beatles Tracks Emerge
'Revolution' floodgates opened
After the recent leak of a new track by The Beatles it seems the floodgates have opened with a huge array of rehearsals and alternate takes sweeping across the internet.
The Beatles may have split in 1970, but their seismic affect on popular culture can be felt at every turn. Recently, a new take of the classic 'Revolution' emerged, sparking a search for more out-takes.
The recent rush of material seems to be centred on the convoluted sessions for 'The White Album'. Released in 1968, this record became renowned for huge egos, massive rows and a glut of material.
The Beatles' only double album, it would go on to become a defining work in their career. New tracks have emerged online showing the group's working methods.
'Revolution' began life as a bluesy rocker, before becoming an experimental tape collage. A series of new takes demonstrate in full how this was achieved, and feature fascinating studio banter between songwriter John Lennon and the rest of the group.
Also found online is a new, instrumental, take on 'Julia'. A home recording made by Lennon, this shows a new side to the evocative classic.
Rehearsal sessions were also taped by the group, and these have now found their way onto the internet with 'Step Inside Love', 'Come And Get It' as well as 'No Escaping Your Love' getting the full treatment.
Fascinating listening - if you can find it!
