New 'Apollo 18' Trailer

Found Footage Space Horror

Spanish director Gonzalo López-Galleg's found footage space horror has been on a release date rollercoaster since it's inception; never exactly confidence inspiring in our opinion. Despite an online buzz started by Bob Weinstein some time ago that the film was actually authentic NASA footage (aided by casting unknown actors in the roles) the conspiracy rumours soon fizzled out and left us with a trailer that was frankly, a bit too explicit.

So, it may have done itself a service with the release of a 'new' trailer which is stripped back and as a result, far more suspenseful. The last American manned mission to the moon took place in 1972. What the film suggest is that 2 years later a follow up shuttle was successfully sent but encountered difficulty on arrival. Call us cynical but we're guessing this is a cue for aliens/vampires/zombies//battles/illness/madness...insert as applicable. Not that we mind any of the above, it would just be nice to get a surprise now and then. Despite this, the factual rumours and the constantly changing release dates, we actually quite like the rough and ready look of the film so shall be watching with some anticipation.

Apollo 18 hits theatres who knows when...watch this space.
