New Animal Collective EP Due

American group return

Hugely acclaimed American group Animal Collective are set to return with a new five track EP.

Throughout 2009 one album has stalked music fans across the planet. Combining songwriting flair and breath-taking originality Animal Collective's new record 'Merriweather Post Pavillion' has scored almost unanimous praise.

Pushing the band perilously close to the mainstream, it nonetheless remains much too complex to ever be fully assimilated into the parade of chart fodder. Continually evolving - even within the space of one song - it has challenged expectations over what a rock band can produce.

Playing a series of triumphant dates across the planet, Animal Collective have also found time to return to the studio. Re-issuing an early album on their own label, the group are due to follow this with a new batch of original material.

Recorded in two bursts the five track EP 'Fall Be Kind' will be released digitally on November 23rd with a physical release following on December 14th.

Produced by Ben Allen at Sweet Tea studios in February 2008 and at Mission Sound in Brooklyn August 2009, 'Fall Be Kind' includes a number of tracks recently unveiled during live performances.

The EP contains recent live favourites such as 'Graze' and 'What Would I Want? Sky' - a track that boasts the first ever legally licensed Grateful Dead sample.

Available on CD, 12 inch and digital download the new EP looks to be one of the most intriguing projects Animal Collective have attempted.
