YMC womenswear is typically androgynous and this collaboration is fittingly representative of the label and of one of the most individual and eclectic British artists around today.
The Spring / Summer line consists of contemporary sportswear and accessories, including printed t-shirts, caps and trainers. Photographs Khan had taken on tour of sunsets became the inspiration for the colours behind the collection.
Each piece is printed with an exclusive print created by Khan in both black and white and sunset colour themes - reflected perfectly in a super 8-style short film that Khan herself directed.
Donning the collection alongside Gregory Rogove (the American musician who partnered with Devendra Banhart to create Megapuss) they play a couple in love. Khan captured this feeling and the essence of the sports luxe pieces through the fusion of super saturated colours and filters in the cinematography.
Originally inspired by her own illustrations of “romantic cut outs of a couple loving and living in the mountains by palm trees and the seas” the film is sound tracked by an unreleased Khan and Beck collaboration – 'Under The Indigo Moon'.
