Mykki Blanco has released new EP 'Betty Rubble: The Initiation' as a download.
An outrageous, flamboyant performer, Mykki Blanco is one of the most unique figures in modern hip hop. A trans-gender artist, the New Yorker's live shows are a blur of beats, rhymes and sexuality.
As challenging as it is, though, the rapper's work is most definitely hip hop. New EP 'Betty Rubble: The Initiation' is out now, and features executive production from Sinden.
Other producers who contributed beats include A-Trak & Oligee, Supreme Cuts and Matrixxman (of 5kin&Bone5), while Ian Isiah contributes vocals. Mykki Blanco is clearly delighted with the results.
"The Initiation EP is aptly titled as I feel the music on this release is my way of initiating listeners into the lyricism and storytelling, the hard hitting rhymes and tripped out cadences that have become the signatures of what make the Mykki Blanco sound. I know that I can be a chameleon but this EP peels back the layers of persona to reveal to you Mykki Blanco the rapper and nothing else. You can love it or hate it but this is HIP HOP."
