Mumford & Sons, Rihanna and more are amongst the first names confirmed for next summer's instalment of T In The Park.
Astonishingly, T In The Park is set to turn 20 next summer. The Scottish event is now one of the largest on the summer calendar, regularly attracting countless thousand fans to the Balado site.
With that milestone in mind, organisers are busy preparing what they feel will be their finest ever event. This morning (December 4th) T In The Park confirmed the first names on the bill for 2013, and it includes some globally recognised stars.
Mumford & Sons are set to headline, following the overwhelming chart success of second album 'Babel'. A Trans-Atlantic number one, the album has been followed by some of the largest headline shows of the band's career to date.
Set to play T In The Park, Mumford & Sons will be joined by Rihanna. One of the biggest pop stars on the planet, the Barbados born singer's appearance has already caused social networks to explore in a flurry of speculation.
Elsewhere, Mercury Music Prize winners alt-j will perform while The Script, Paloma Faith, Jake Bugg and Of Monsters and Men have all confirmed their involvement.
Festival Director Geoff Ellis said: “Seems like only yesterday that the first band took to the stage at Strathclyde Park for our inaugural T in the Park in 94, now here we are in 2012 announcing 2 of the of the world’s biggest and best acts to headline our 20th edition. We have always worked incredibly hard to bring our T in the Park fans the best line-up possible, and this year is no exception. We are unbelievably excited that Mumford & Sons and Rihanna will be taking to the Main Stage in Kinross as we are sure our audience will be. We have many more fantastic acts in store for everyone and will announce these next year, but it’s shaping up to be one hell of celebration.”
A limited number of T in the Park 2013 tickets will be available at 2012 prices at 9am on Friday (December 7th).
T In The Park runs between July 12th -14th.
