MTV Awards Expand
Beyonce for New York ceremony
The MTV Video Music Awards have expanded their all star line up, with pop star Beyonce set to join the celebrations.
Award season never really stops. It sometimes seems that at any point in the year, somewhere in the world a glitzy celebration is taking place with a host of musical stars waltzing down the red carpet.
Next up: MTV Video Music Awards. One of the biggest and most lavish awards ceremonies in the United States, the awards boast a number of star performances.
Muse are set to preview their new album with a special performance. The stadium proggers are due to return with their first long player in three years, and the band are set to perform their comeback single in front of a global audience.
Also due to perform are Green Day. The punk group's latest album caused no end of controversy, particularly on this site! An overwrought dollop of hectoring nonsense or a concept punk masterpiece? You decide!
The list of performers is set to increase with Pink and Beyonce set to appear. Beyonce makes up one half of America's number one showbiz couple, with husband Jay-Z set to drop his new album 'The Blueprint 3' later this year.
Rapper Wale and the band UCB are set to care of house band duties. Russell Brand is due to return as host of the event, after his controversial turn at last year's ceremony. The comedian repeatedly insulted then President George W Bush, to the general bemusement of the audience.
MTV Video Music Awards takes place on September 13th.
