LA group to appear on cop show
Los Angeles sleaze rockers Motley Crue are set for a run in with the law after confirming they will appear on the season finale of American police drama Bones.
The hard rockers will perform their song 'Dr Feelgood' in the final episode of the hugely successful forensic police show. Motley Crue are currently re-visiting their past, with the band set to embark on the Crue Fest 2 event, which will see them bring their 'Dr Feelgood' album to cities across America.
Motley Crue formed in Los Angeles in the early 80s. Attracted by the glamour of the West Coast rock scene, the band came to epitomise the sleaze and danger of the Sunset Strip scene. Famed for their adventures with groupies, the band endured years of drug problems and countless run ins with the law.
Frontman Nikki Sixx was actually declared dead in the back of an ambulance, after a massive heroin overdose. The singer was accompanied by two groupies, who begged paramedics to continue. Sixx received two adrenaline shots to the heart, and came dramatically back to life.
In true Motley Crue fashion the group turned the incident into a song, with 'Kickstart My Heart' appearing on 'Dr Feelgood'.
Their autobiography 'The Dirt' is one of the essential rock 'n' roll textbooks. Containing more than a few shocking incidents, we can only imagine how it would have read had the group been sober enough to remember everything of what went on.
'The Dirt' is set to be turned into a motion picture, which is due for release in 2011. After enduring years of turmoil the band have got their career back on track in recent times, releasing their new album 'Saints Of Los Angeles' last year.
Motley Crue will appear on US TV drama Bone on May 14th.
