Morrissey Quit Threat

Star could retire

Morrissey is preparing to make his comeback with new album 'Years Of Refusal' but the Manchester singer could be about to quit music, according to a new interview.

Morrissey released his first single in 1982 with The Smiths, but had worked with Manchester punk acts Ed Banger And The Nosebleeds as well as Slaughter And The Dogs before that.

In a new interview Morrissey claimed he wanted to keep his dignity before the music industry stripped him of it.

“I don’t want to go on much longer, really," he told Filter. "I think that would suggest a lack of imagination. A certain lack of dignity also. There has to reach a point where you’ve said enough, I think.”

Morrissey went solo in 1987, releasing his first album under his own name - 'Viva Hate' - the following year. His latest album is titled 'Years Of Refusal' and will be out in February. Click here here for a review!
