Morrissey Collaborates With McCartney

Renowned vegetarian and animal rights activist Morrissey has teamed up Stella McCartney to design a new pair of shoes.

Morrissey is one of Britain's most prominent vegetarians. Naming an album 'Meat Is Murder' the singer made his thoughts clear, with the title track intoning that 'death without reason is murder'.

Since then Morrissey has continually campaigned for animal rights. Although this has seen the singer enter some dodgy territory - supporting the ALF for example - the indie icon has inspired countless thousands to give up meat.

A recent show at American festival Coachella saw the singer retreat from the stage, with Morrissey claiming that he was over powered by the stench of nearby burger vans.

Now Morrissey is set to work on a range of leather free footwear in co-operation with Stella McCartney. The daughter of Sir Paul McCartney, the designer was born in a family of vegetarians.

The fashion icon's late mother Linda McCartney was a famed vegetarian chef who turned her family meals into a best selling cookery range.

Following in her footsteps, Stella McCartney has often championed animal rights. Speaking to the Daily Mail the designer revealed that "I'm working with Morrissey on a line of leather-free shoes which I'm really excited about."

"We are still in the early stages, but the shoes could be launched next year."

Stella McCartney is also set to team up with Leona Lewis on a new clothing range.
