Morrissey Animal Protest

Mancunian minstrel of melancholy Morrissey has been asked to go naked alongside Hollywood actress Eva Mendes for a new animal rights poster, it has been reported.

The former Smiths singer is a high profile animal rights campaigner as well as a vegetarian activist. The artist is well known for his views, perhaps most explicitly expressed on The Smiths' anthem 'Meat Is Murder'.

Hollywood actress Eva Mendes has said in a recent interview that she would be glad to appear alongside Morrissey in one of the PETA's 'I'd Rather Go Natked' campaigns.

"I’ve done a lot of work with them and I know Morrissey is a big supporter of PETA, so here’s hoping,” she told British red top The Sun.

“Whether Morrissey would want to get naked with me is another question. Maybe he could come up with something more creative than out-and-out nudity.”

Morrissey has endorsed the work of PETA in the past, while Mendes has previously appeared in an advert for the animal rights group.
