Monsters Of Folk UK Show Confirmed

New single from supergroup

American songwriting supergroup Monsters Of Folk have confirmed a new British tour date, as well as a forthcoming single release.

Supergroups seem to be in fashion right now. Whether its the growth of the internet or a fear of the recession musicians across the globe seem to be pooling their talent in some spectacular new projects.

The Dead Weather, Them Crooked Vultures and more are signs of what can happen when great minds think alike. Rather quieter than their supergroup comrades, Monsters Of Folk may well outstrip their rivals.

Formed by Conor Oberst and Mike Mogis of Bright Eyes, Jim James of My Morning Jacket as well as M Ward Monsters Of Folk boast a mouth watering cast.

The band's self titled debut album was born in 2004 when the cast played a special one off show together. Finding they worked well together an idea was born, with the songwriters putting time aside earlier this year.

Retreating to a studio in the deep South, the resulting album was more than the sum of its illustrious parts. Containing some stunning songwriting 'Monsters Of Folk' was an overwhelming success.

Now the group have confirmed details of a new single. 'Whole Lotta Losin'' was a stand out on the self-titled album, and is a superb example of Monsters Of Folk's songwriting style.

Due for release on November 16th, the single will be accompanied by two very special British live appearances. Already due to play London on November 17th, Monsters Of Folk have added a show in Cardiff to their schedule.

Monsters Of Folk will now play the following UK tour dates:

November
16 Cardiff Coal Exchange
17 London Troxy Ballroom
