Monarchy Live Details
Happy Mondays, Supergrass for July event
One of the year's biggest one-day events is set to take place this July, with Monarchy Live returning to Ragley Hall in Warwickshire.
Headlined by legendary baggy rebels and Happy Mondays and Britpop heroes Supergrass, other new additions to the event now include John McClure's Sheffield pop outfit Reverend & The Makers and newcomers Bombay Bicycle Club.
The Rev has been on hiatus from The Makers since last summer, concentrating on his recent indie-rap supergroup Mongrel. However with live dates pencilled in for both acts, it seems McClure is set for a busy summer. The singer has also been spending his spare time challenging the UK’s live licensing laws and playing more Love Music Hate Racism shows.
Madchester groove dons Happy Mondays however are still currently thought to be working on the follow up to 2007’s 'Uncle Dysfunktional', as well as playing a select series of festivals. Speaking of the band's sixth album last year, Shaun Ryder did however urge fans to be patient, adding:
"Knowing us, it'll probably come out in about two years time. I mean, the other one, we had that in the can for, what, two years before that got released, because of legal problems. It took us eight or nine years to sort out all that.."
