Mike Skinner Working On New Book

Mike Skinner is apparently hard at work on a new autobiographical tome titled 'The Story Of The Streets'.

Leaving The Streets behind last year, Mike Skinner brought down the final curtain on his acclaimed ten year project. Since then, though, the songwriter has hardly had a moments rest after unveiling The D.O.T.

A partnership with Rob Harvey, the project has already bore fruit. Entering the RizLab, the pair collaborated with Ghostpoet on a special one off track, which was given a limited edition vinyl release.

Now Mike Skinner has revealed that he is working on a new book. 'The Story Of The Streets' will be autobiographical, and according to the songwriter it is close to publication.

Bantam Press are set to handle the release of 'The Story Of The Streets', which was crafted with assistance from writer Ben Thompson - whose previous credits include work with Russell Brand, Vic Reeves and more.

Speaking to fans on Twitter, Mike Skinner revealed that the upcoming book will contain a series of very personal photographs. "I wasnt going to have photos in my book coz i thought it was a bit silly but the wife said i had to… mum gave me a stack of photo album(s). got a bit emotional. where i'm starting school and that".

Linking to a childhood photo, the songwriter commented: "my first day at school. and strong emotions for me because my little girl starts nursery this week. circle of life shit. lion king and that".

'The Story Of The Streets' is due to be released on March 29th.
