Mick Jagger - Online Advisor?

Rolling Stone Aids Industry

Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger has been busy aiding the EU in their decision on the future of buying music online, it has emerged.

The former enfant terrible of the record industry is now helping decide trade barriers, it seems. Jagger attended a meeting in Brussels yesterday (September 17th) with high ranking figures from such record companies as Apple, EMI and eBay.

The team of music industry experts met with EU Competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes, and on the agenda was the methods sites such as iTunes use to sell music. A report on the subject, including input from Mick Jagger, is set to be published in October.

While the decision to involve Jagger will no doubt raise some eyebrows, he is renowned as one of the most astute businessmen in rock music, keeping a close watch on The Rolling Stones finances. A former student of the London School of Economics, Jagger sits at the forefront of the music industry.

There is no set date for the published report from the EU.
