Michael Jackson Tribute Cancelled

A memorial show for Michael Jackson has been cancelled, with the concert being re-organised for 2010.

Since his death, Michael Jackson has been immortalised with a series of concerts. On what would have been the star's 51st birthday fans across the world held impromptu concerts to remember the 'Thriller' icon.

In Mexico City, fans broke a world record for the most people dancing to 'Thriller' - pretty much exactly what Michael Jackson would have wanted.

However the biggest memorial show has been organised by the singer's brother Jermaine Jackson. Due to take place in Austria, Jermaine Jackson attempted to book some of the world's biggest acts.

Due to take place later this year, singers such as Chris Brown and Mary J Blige were due to perform. Earlier today (September 11th) line up difficulties began to emerge, with a number of high profile acts pulling out.

As a result Jermaine Jackson has now cancelled the concert, with a memorial show due to take place in London next year.

"Many artists and performers who I have spoken to personally told me that it would be a great honor to be part of this memorial concert for my late brother - an artist who influenced the music world like virtually no other," Jermaine Jackson said.

"However, due to the short time frame it was not possible for many of them to change their schedule so that they could be on stage in Vienna on September 26, therefore we decided, after careful consideration, to change the date of the tribute concert to June 2010 - just a few weeks before the first anniversary of his untimely death," Jermaine explained.

"Now we have 8 months to put this monumental show together and not just 8 weeks. Despite the short amount of time we would have been able to stage a great show, in keeping with Michael's high standards, but numerous starts were just not able to change their schedules to make a live appearance at the Vienna event possible."

The Michael Jackson Memorial show will now take place in London next year.
