Michael Jackson Burial Latest

Late pop superstar Michael Jackson is due to be buried on September 3rd, rather than the previously announced date of August 31st.

Michael Jackson occupies a unique place in the history of pop music. A child star he later conquered the world and revolutionised the way pop was produced. His showmanship and unique videos made him an instantly recognisable superstar and one of the best selling artists of all time.

However there was also a darker side to Jackson's life. His early bullying at the hands of his family led to lifelong problems with self-esteem, and the singer's later retreat into solitude at Neverland gave rise to all kinds of rumours.

The singer died in June after collapsing at his home in Los Angeles. Debate over the cause of Michael Jackson's death is still ongoing, with his family organising a massive tribute show in the city's Staple Center.

A previous statement from the Jackson family indicated that the singer would be interred on August 31st - what would have been his 51st birthday.

However that date has now been changed to September 3rd. Previously, the singer's father Joe Jackson has insisted that his son would be laid to rest at Forest-Lawn memorial park in Glendale.

Meanwhile, Jackson's personal physician is still battling claims that his negligence led to the singer's death. Dr Conrad Murray recently released a video statement thanking his supporters, with the medical professional accused of administering Jackson with powerful drugs.
