M.I.A. Video Storm Continues

Ginger kid speaks out

Returning world-pop star M.I.A.'s new video 'Born Free' is continuing to cause controversy across the world.

Released last week, the new video from M.I.A. is one of her most outspoken gestures to date. Sampling the synth-noise dons Suicide, the track 'Born Free' is a stunning musical return in its own right.

Teaming up with Romain Gavras, the result is a ginger-baiting video which has shocked some viewers. Featuring plenty of nudity and violence, the nine minute promo follows a police team who round up red-headed people and then shoot them.

Gulp!

Given that ClashMusic has its origins in Scotland, there are a fair few gingers associated with the mag. Expect to see us get our own back in the reviews section M.I.A....

Meanwhile, the ginger kid shot at the finale of the video has spoken out. Ian Hamrick is just twelve years old, and has suddenly been thrust into fame with only a few minutes of unspoken acting.

American celebrity magazine TMZ tracked down the child actor, who explained that the video is using violence as a protest against violence.

"The video is definitely not for kids – I haven't even seen the full video myself – but for all the adults and people in different countries who are doing that in real life... doing the genocides to whatever: Italians, Africans, wherever it's from, it's still genocide. So it's showing violence to end violence."

The actor also explained that he had been briefed on the full plot before agreeing to be in the video, while Hamrick also claimed that "M.I.A. was a sweetheart".

So she doesn't hate ginger people? Phew.
