M.I.A. Back With New Material

Fourth album in the pipeline

M.I.A. has confirmed plans for release her fourth studio album in the summer via Mercury Records.

M.I.A. is never silent for long. Retiring from the public eye after a bruising campaign for her ‘// / Y /’ album, the singer then focussed on a one off mixtape.

Making plans for her fourth album, the singer is now due to make her next move. Signing a deal with Mercury Records, M.I.A. is planning to release her latest full length in the summer.

Before then, M.I.A. will unveil her new single ‘Bad Girls’ on Radio 1 this Tuesday (January 31st). Zane Lowe will give the single an exclusive first play, with the New York based singer phoning in for a chat with the New Zealander.

Due to be released on January 31st, ‘Bad Girls’ as recorded in Miami and produced by Danja – whose previous credits include big hitters such as Madonna, Nelly Furtado and Pink.

Intriguingly, the video for ‘Bad Girls’ will be directed by Romain Gavras. An acclaimed film maker, Gavras previously took control of the infamous clip for the Justice single ‘Stress’. Oh, and the director also worked with M.I.A. on this little piece of YouTube banned ginger baiting footage…
