MGMT have announced a series of European shows - including a handful of British dates.
Beware pigeon holes. When they first emerged, MGMT were labelled an electro rock group - an idea which found currency when the likes of Justice and Soulwax were producing stunning remixes of their material.
With second album 'Congratulations' though, the band took a sideways step. Citing lost indie groups and psychedelic troubadours as inspiration, the album seemed to split listeners into passionate advocates and outright critics.
So expect the unexpected from their new material. MGMT are busy finishing their third album, which is due to be released later this year. Alongside this, the American band are plotting a new European tour.
MGMT will include some UK dates, opening with a show in Glasgow on October 12th. Hitting Manchester, the band will then perform at London venue the Forum on October 16th.
Leaping across the Irish sea, MGMT then intend to play a one off show at the Olympia in Dublin on October 19th. Pre-tickets go on sale on October 19th, before the general sale opens on October 21st.
MGMT are set to play the following shows:
12 Glasgow ABC1
13 Wolverhampton Civic
14 Manchester Apollo
16 London Forum
19 Dublin Olympia
