First headliners confirmed

Danish group Mew have been named as the first headline act for this year's instalment of Truck.

Tiring of major corporations taking over the British festival circuit, the Bennett decided to host their own. Taking place on a small farm near Oxford, Truck has grown over the course of a decade to become a highly respected event.

With a series of unusual attractions, Truck has spawned the environmentally friendly spin off Wood as well as a Stateside counterpart. Truck America is lingering on the horizon, with performances due from the likes of Mercury Rev, White Rabbits, Joy Formidable and many more.

Taking the wonders of Truck to a site near Woodstock, the festival is branching out in ambitious new ways. Now organisers have proven that they haven't forgotten about British fans, by confirming the first details of the Oxford event.

Danish indie-proggers Mew are to headline the event. Over the course of a groundbreaking series of albums the group have reached a far higher level of prominence than many other Scandinavian acts.

Returning last year with their new album 'No More Stories...' the band delighted fans and came close to cracking the United States charts. With admirers including Radiohead, Mew are clearly going places.

Set to headline this summer's Truck Festival, the event is due to confirm more details over the coming weeks.

Truck festival takes place between July 23rd - 25th.
