Mercury Shows Announced

With Ladyhawke and Blood Red Shoes

The first names set to play this year's Mercury Prize Shows have been revealed, with New Zealand electro-pop minstrel Ladyhawke set to perform, alongside Brighton grunge-pop duo Blood Red Shoes.

The first show will be taking place at the London Club Hospital venue in Covent Garden on May 29th.

Having just returned with her new single 'Back Of The Van', Ladyhawke AKA Pip Brown looks set to continue her rise by playing yet more UK shows after touring the UK extensively throughout 2008.

Last year's debut saw the singer unleash a string of dancefloor-igniting singles (hear an alternative French version of 'Paris Is Burning' on Clash Music HERE) and cemented her arrival as one of the biggest names in pop.

Blood Red Shoes are also set to appear at the show, following recent support slots for The Kills. The Brighton power-pop twosome are currently putting the finishing touches to 07's 'Little Box Of Secrets'.
